Star Wars fandom, specifically Kylux fandom, has been really kind and done wonderful things for me, especially recently when I got back into it real deep. I love all my friends here! Thank you for being awesome!
Rey huffed and rolled her eyes when her captor asked her to clarify on what name, what was it with these Dark Side types and name games? Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker, Kylo Ren or Ben Solo, Darth Sidious or Emperor Palpatine it was rather pretentious and annoying. Just play along she reminded herself, it will make escape easier, through her teeth she replied.
“Well, whichever you prefer to go by.”
Growing anxiety built in Rey’s system as she saw some sort of structure out in the distance and noticed that the planet’s sun was setting, she could hear the change in wildlife as the diurnal animals were preparing to slumber and the nocturnal ones awakening. There was also a chill in the jungle air. She knew that she’d have to make her move soon, she couldn’t wait for them to get much closer to that structure which she assumed was their destination.
“Do you mind telling me where we’re going?”
Giving her a straight forward answer would have been rather BORING. So he decided why not just give both and let her decide which she’d prefer to go with in the end. Giving her a choice of something might get her to be less annoying. Still, it also just might encourage her behavior. Either way it was a RISK the sith was willingly to take. “You can call me Dagon Varik or Darth Caedis.” He said turning to look at her.”It is your choice.” And with that the former king turned back towards the OLD temple that stood a small distance away.
The darkness that seeped out of the stone building strengthened him as he motioned her to follow. “To the temple of course. I do not think you will want to be caught out in the jungle at NIGHT.” A small smirk tugged at his lips for a moment knowing the creatures that lay hidden in the brush. “I suggest you keep up.” His last words of advice before continuing on his walk towards THEIR destination.
Knowing these darkside types Rey thought it would irritate her captor if she used his real name instead of his title, so she opted to do just that. She remained silent as they walked towards the temple feeling a cool brush of grief envelop her, she was momentarily brought back to Ahch-To and to her training with Master Skywalker, grief turned to anger as it hurt endlessly that all the effort they put in to the resistance and to keeping the hope of the new Jedi order is now practically for not. She hissed his name out.
“I’ll stick with Dagon, if it’s all the same to you.“
Rey tried to put aside her grief, tried to put aside her anger trying to remember the teachings Luke gave her, to center herself within the force. But, as the sun set on Onderon she found it harder and harder to hold on to that hope and the light. Rey thought perhaps it could be due to her vicinity to the temple.
Rey rolled her eyes at Dagon for his attempt to frighten her and she weighed the odds of her chances in the jungle verses her chances with Dagon. She ran scenarios in her mind of her running to the closest settlement or even the planetary control center she heard the man talk to as they entered the atmosphere of this world and came to land on it’s surface. Her life on Jakku warned against that, it was foolish to do something on someone’s home turf unless you had a great plan, and annoyingly she didn’t have even a mediocre plan.
Willing herself, Rey increased her pace to keep up with Dagon.
